Lakeland Paddle Challenge

A tough challenge paddling over 36km within 12 hours!

Our Lakeland Paddle Challenge is one of the best challenges the Lake District and you will paddle the 3 largest Lakes: Windermere, Ullswater and Coniston in under 12 hours. The canoes can be rafted together to form a very stable platform, we also have our own sails which means we can use nature to our advantage if the wind is blowing in the right direction. We are also able to make this challenge harder for you (only if you wish) by making you mountain bike between the lakes, making it a truly self propelled journey from start to finish. You will be accompanied by qualified instructors who will be on hand to help out should you need it. If you have never paddled a canoe before – don’t worry as full instruction and guidance will be given immediately prior to starting the challenge. This event is aimed at complete beginners through to experienced paddlers.

  • Coniston Water 8km
  • Windermere 16.8km
  • Ullswater 12km

Total Distance: 36.8km

We recommend that in the lead-up to this challenge, participants work on building up their stamina with weekly cardio-vascular exercise of a minimum of 1 hour per day, 5 days per week to build up their upper body strength. We can help you prepare for this event – for  information about our pre-selection / training day click here.
